Liu Baocheng

Director

Dr. Liu received his MBA and MSC in International Business from Seton Hall University (USA) and his bachelor degree in International Trade and PhD in Law from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE, China).

Dr. Liu is the founder and Director of the Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE) at the University of International Business and Economics, Deputy Director of China Open Economy Institute, founder of the Sino-America International Management Institute, and Director of the Sino-French Excellence Institute. Furthermore, Dr. Liu established China’s first Masters Program on Sustainable Development at China Agriculture University in partnership with the University Paris Dauphine (MSD). He served as adjunct professor at Seton Hall University, Montclair State University, and University of Maryland. Dr. Liu’s area of research and teaching covers a variety of disciplines including marketing, business ethics, cross-cultural communication, and business law. Dr. Liu also serves on the council for China’s Society of Economic Transitions and Research Center of Multinational Corporations. He is also a member of the Advisory Council to the Beijing Foreign Investment Administration and to Shizuishan City of Ningxia Autonomous Region.

Besides teaching and research, Dr. Liu is personally involved in many projects that cover international trades, joint venture management, marketing research, and legal services. He provides consulting and training to many clients such as BASF, Bentley, Bimbo, BP, China Central Party School, Chinese pharmaceutical companies, Herborium Inc., London Export Corporation, North China Electric Power, OTIS, Schneider, Sino-PEC, Sichuan Telecom, Unigene Laboratories, etc...

 

Kirk Hanson, Honorable President

Prof. Kirk Hanson graduated from the Graduate School of Business in Stanford University,and has taught there for 23 years, during when he did teaching and research work on economic ethics.Now he is the Executive Director in theMarkkula Center for Applied Ethics in MarkkulaUniversity, what’smore,he is also the professor of histology and sociology.
Hanson writes on managing the ethical and public behavior of corporations. He was the founding president of The Business Enterprise Trust, a national organization created by leaders in business, labor, media and academia to promote exemplary behavior in business organization. He has twice chaired Stanford’s Committee on Investment Responsibility which advises the Stanford Board of Trustees on social investment issues.He has held graduate fellowships and research appointments at the Yale Divinity School and the Harvard Business School.

 

Prof. Lou Yulie

Chief Advisor

Prof. Lou Yulie teaches in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Peking University and is a research supervisor at the Buddhist Research Institute. He is a member of the Team of Ancient Books' Arrangement and Publication of the State Council and a consultant at the Chinese Religious Institute and the Global Confucius Institute. Prof. Lou’s research and teaching focus on the history of Chinese philosophy and Buddhism. He has published numerous articles and books about traditional philosophy and Buddhism, such as “Metaphysics and Chinese Traditional Philosophy,” “On the History Evolution and Future Perspectives of Chinese Confucianism,” “Buddhism and Chinese Philosophy in Modern Times,” “Chinese Buddhism and Humanistic Spirit” and “Confucian Self-cultivation Theory.” Among Prof. Lou’s accomplishments, he established the Buddhist Nun College at Peking University and acts as an advocate and practitioner for the Chinese Culture Fund.

 

Liu Debing

Director of Advisory Board

Liu Debing,Awarded National Model Worker and State Special Allowance, graduated from UIBE with Bachelor and MBA degrees. Titled with Senior International Commerce and Senior Economist

Now holding the position of chairman of China General Consulting and Investment Company, President of China International Tendering Co. and chairman of Genertec (Beijing) Fund Management Co. Used to be vice president of China National Technical Imp & Exp Corp. and vice president of China National Machinery Imp & Exp Corp.

Having been working the field of international business circle for 36 years, Mr. Liu has devoted himself in importing several hundred licensing and know-how transfer deals as well as some governmental key projects for China with foreign partners, especially ones of Fortune 500. In the present century, as authorized, conducted quite some mega projects such as Transfer of Technology of Heavy Duty Gas Turbine and Construction of Power Stations (Bundle-Buy Project), Nuclear Technology Localization Project, Shanghai Yangshan Intl Deep Sea Terminals, Qinghai- Tibet Railway Project and High Speed Train Serials.

Now concentrated with cooperation with international community in the field of green, clean tech, energy saving and environment protection, eco-park construction as well as urbanization program. He renewed a trading arm into an integrated firm with 4 SBUs such as consulting service, commercial service, project management and financing and investment incl. fund management, this is China General Consulting & Investment Co, where he is the chairman of the board.

 

Yang Hengda

Senior Academic Adviser

Professor Yang Hengda is the Vice Director of the Center for International Business Ethics at the University of International Business and Economics. 
In 1982 Prof. Yang received his M.A. from Renmin University Beijing, China and took office there in the same year. Between 1985 and 1987, he studied comparative literature and German at the University of Bonn (Germany) and between August 1992 and 1993 he was a visiting professor at Towson University (USA). Prof. Yang is fluent in four languages: Chinese, German, English and French.
 Currently, he is a Professor in the Comparative Literature School at Renmin University of China, the Director of teaching at the Comparative Literature School, Director of the Overseas Chinese Culture Institute, Senior Academic Advisor at The Beijing Center of Chinese Studies, Vice Chairman of Beijing Comparative Literature Association, and Director of the Chinese Comparative Literature Association as well as a member of the board. He is also a member of the Chinese Writers Association. Prof. Yang is very accomplished in philosophy, literature, and cross-cultural studies.

 

Hou Shengtian

Senior Research Associate

Dr. Hou, received his MBA from City University (USA). Dr. Hour is an Associate Professor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) for the School of Management. He has more than 20 years of experience in lecturing, corporate marketing, management, strategy consulting, and management training. Dr. Hou is also the senior researcher and deputy Secretary General of CIBE.

After graduating Tsingghua University in 1987, Dr. Hou was invited to join the teaching staff. He later went abroad to the University of Jyvaskyla in 1992. After returning to China, he worked for many famous companies, handling jobs such as corporate management, marketing, strategy consulting, and management training. Dr. Hou has taught and lectured Strategic Management, Medical Service Marketing, Hospital Marketing Management, Pharmacy Marketing Management, Marketing Research, Network Marketing, and Entrepreneurial Management and Finance at Universities such as BUCM, Western International University (USA), and Tsinghua University, as well as several distinguished training organizations. Dr. Hou’s research covers sustainable competence of enterprises, creative marketing, Chinese and Western management, and the history of management theories.

Dr. Hou has published extensively in the field of marketing and strategic management, in topics specifically related to healthcare. Some of his popular books include: Green Ocean Strategy----Obtaining sustainable competitive advantage, Marching in the Green Ocean, Success Stories of Longevity Companies, Health Food Marketing Management, Marketing & and Managing OTC Products, Pharmacy Marketing Management, Medical Marketing Management, Medical Service Marketing, Healthcare Advertising, and Healthcare Marketing Research. Dr. Hou is also Chief Editor of “The National Management Textbook Series for Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities.”

 

Yike Tian

Senior Researcher

Yike Tian, primitively named Hui Tian and from Nanpi, Hebei Province, is both a calligrapher and a scholar on Guoxue (Chinese ancient civilization, including philosophy, history, archaeology, literature, linguistics, etc.). After ending his career as a teacher in Hebei Botou Normal School (1992-1998), he established his own business in 1998 involving projects, trade, cultural diffusion, etc. Through his research in marketing, management, and economic ethics, Yike Tian has developed original ideas on the cross-study of traditional Chinese culture and modern corporate management.

Yike Tian has lectured to university students, corporate managers, and government officials on inspiration and communication in The Analects of Confucius, the international economy’s relationship to ethics, and the Dizigui, both in execution and practical significance in modern business. He has been with CIBE since June 2006.

 

Yang YunHui

Senior Researcher

Yang YunHui was born April 8, 1965 in Xiangyin, Hunan. Now he is the senior enterprise culture manager and executive director of the Association of Chinese brand manager. He is employed in a top 500 enterprise, MacrolinkGroup, as executive director and assistant president. He studied at Hunan First Normal University, Hunan University, Peking University and other institutions, culminating in a professional educational background of Chinese Language and Literature, Economics, and Business Administration. Yang YunHui’s background in teaching, research, and media coverage come from Hunan First Normal University, Hunan Education Press Agency and Hunan Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Office. His long-term focus is on the spread of media, the building of enterprise culture and management, business ethics, ancient Chinese philosophy in the news, culture building, brand building, and career development. Through his rich experience and profound gnosis, he has planned, edited, and published more than ten enterprise culture and management books. Furthermore, he is published in dozens of newspapers on domestic business management and culture building, and in hundreds of news articles on large-scale domestic enterprise. He has experience in compiling and publishing corporate social responsibility reports, in training corporate culture and corporate management, and in academic exchanges for more than thirty enterprises. He has been a senior researcher in CIBE since March 2012.

 

Dorothy Gao

Office & Project Director

Ms. Huan Gao graduated from the School of International Trades at the University of Business and Economics and received her masters degree from Loughborough University, England. She returned to the University of Business and Economics in 2004 to work as Dean Secretary of the Sino-French School of International Management.

In the summer of 2006, she worked as program director for the Masters of Sustainable Development Program (MSD), which is jointly organized by China Agricultural University and the Paris-Dauphine University, with the Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE) as the academic center of curriculum development. Currently she works as the Office & Project Director of CIBE, taking responsibility for administration, the Annual International Conference, and the Corporate Social Responsibility Essay Competition that has attracted competing students from the most prestigious Chinese Universities.

 

Xiaosong Li

Researcher

Xiaosong Li graduated with the master’s degree in Global Marketing from University of International Business and Economics. His current research interests include International Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Consumer Behaviors. From September 2008 to March 2009, he studied in Univerzitaet zu Koeln (Cologne University), Germany as an exchange student. Since June 2009, he has been working in the research department of CIBE, and now is mainly responsible for projects related to Ethical Criteria and Business Ethics Case Studies.

 


Iris Liu

Social Entrepreneurship Project Leader

Iris Liu graduated from the University of Paris Dauphine with a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development Management. Her research is related to corporate social responsibility, environmental management, ecological cities, gender discrimination, microfinance, climate change, and other sustainable development-related disciplines. Before she worked with CIBE, Iris Liu worked in the advertising and furniture industry. She is now the Sustainable Project Manager and is responsible for the series of college students CSR package including the Future Cities (China) design Competition, the Annual CSR Essay Competition, Climate Change Campus Tour, and the Business Negotiations Competition.
