1. Three Seminars on Teaching Business Ethics in Manila: 2010-2012
CIBE in cooperation with the Asian Jesuit Universities and Colleges, the Gov Jose B Fernandez Jr. Ethics Center, at the Ateneo de Manila University organized seminar on business ethics education focusing on Asian regions.
The seminar discussed various ways to make teaching business ethics more effective in Asia, as well as opportunities for support and collaboration among several universities and centers.
A concrete result is the publication of a book called “Dimensions of Teaching Business Ethics in Asia” by Spinger Heidelberg, New York (ISBN 978-3-642-360020) edited by then CIBE’s secretary-general Dr. Stephan Rothlin.
The seminar helps foster pedagogical studies and knowledge sharing in teaching business ethics among faculties in Asia, each year attended by 20-30 participants. However, due the diplomatic tension between China and the Philippines, this program has temporarily to be put on a halt.
2. China Credit 4.16 Summit: 2009-now
From 2009, CIBE cooperated with China Credit Research Center (CCRC) of Peking University and Credit Gongjian Association, to organize China Credit 4.16 Summit and essay collection. Each year, 300-400 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs from all over China attended the Summit, with focus on credit construction. Representatives from local government credit agencies, credit society groups, and research institutions exchanged and shared their working experience.
Based on the strategic alliance signed between CIBE and CCRC, by working together with on such summits, social network is strengthened in which CIBE plays a pivotal role. The unique part of such summit is that it is able to draw a bewildering number of participants from mainstream organizations across China. As a byproduct, CIBE successfully collaborated with CCRC on the production of the TV documentary – Ethical Integrity in China.
