CSR performance assessment system of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China 2009-2013
2009 is the year of global economic upheaval and the Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs) adjustment in China. We’re confronted with the situation of quantity decline of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the structural fine-tune of FIEs. At such a critical moment, we’re in the desperate need of scientific, comprehensive and feasible assessment systems to evaluate and direct the development of FDI and FIEs, in accorder to ensure and achieve the healthy and sustainable economic growth and social development.
The project launched by CIBE is striving to establish a comprehensive operating guideline and develop a scientific and feasible assessment system to monitor and ensure the responsible behavior of FIEs in China, meanwhile provide fair, practical and applicative results and index for governments’ decision-making. This project can promote the practice and development of CSR theory in developing countries, and help foreign-invested enterprises implement CSR strategies to enhance competitiveness in China. The study employs research methodologies such as literature review, comparative studies, field interviews, consultation with experts, questionnaires, case studies, surveys examining FIEs in China and other methods.
