CSR Performance of Chinese Outbound Investment: from 2013
This project aims to enhance awareness, propose strategy and legislation of CSR by both Chinese government and Chinese outbound investors in order to promote mutually beneficial relationship between China and affected areas and foster economic growth and sustainable development of the local communities.
The objectives of the research include:
- An annual report on the CSR performance of Chinese ODI;
- A measurement matrix for the CSR performance of Chinese ODI;
- A guidebook for Chinese ODI Ethics;
- A casebook on the CSR performance of global investor with a focus on Chinese ODI;
- A legislative proposal for Chinese government to regulate CSR behavior of Chinese ODI.
CIBE conducted a workshop on August 5th 2013 on CSR Performance of Chinese ODI among top experts from Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) and UIBE. The purpose was to verify the feasibility of the project and establish strategic alliance with relevant parties. A narrative overview is completed. CIBE has worked with domestic and foreign partners on the project, like The Business Ethics Network (BEN) based in South Africa, the Institute of International Relations (IDEI), Catholic University of Peru, Peru, not to mention to Chinese partners.
