Focus on the Current, Lead in the Future

Date:2013-11-20 16:45:24

Today was August9th, the last day of our summer camp and the deadline of our homework-, which included a case plan and analysis.

First, each group gave a presentation and then teachers and students from other groups responded by raising a few questions.

The topic of the first group was sales of Nanpi County specialties. They intended to sell their products both online and offline, taking the Dashanzi Art District as the predecessor.

The second topic was the recently established Chinese law which forces people to go home to visit their parents. Two students majoring in law criticized this law for ignoring the difference between morals and law. They argued that not all people not visiting their parents are irresponsible individuals. Some of them have no other choice owing to their lack of money; such is the situation for migrant workers. Nevertheless, one should not be forced by law to visit their parents or family reunions will become a burden instead of an enjoyment. The next group was very creative and used the prisoner’s dilemma to analyze the GSK event. They questioned if modern enterprises should use bribes to get business or sustain business.

“Taihu Lake harnessing” was a shared theme by the fourth and sixth groups. Group Four tackled the problem as a local environmental protection agency and Group Six acted as the local government. They showed a film they created and then had a heated debate.

Group Five discussed the airline carbon tax levied by the EU. They expressed various opinions in the form of a conference. Each individual delegated for one party, such as the EU, China, the US, and airline companies. The conclusion was that the tax was inappropriate even it began from good will to protect the environment.

Through today’s presentations, we displayed our intelligence and abilities. Students should pay attention to hot social issues, which is an important way to be responsible in the community. I quite enjoyed this process because we were all heading in the same direction with the help of each other.
