On the fourth day of the summer camp, July 31th, we had the opportunity to have a marketing management class given by the professor in UIBE, Fu Huifen.
As the students know little knowledge of marketing, Prof. Fu gave a lot of vivid examples to explain the theory to make the whole class coherent, simple, and clean. Corresponding with the theme of the summer camp, the class began with the explanation of green entrepreneurship. In her view, “the goal of green entrepreneurship can be understood as cultural business, which needs the product-service-business model.” Afterwards, Prof. Fu focused on giving examples to explain “business model”. By listing the students’ familiar brands, such as Xiaomi, Baidu, WeChat, and Holiday Inn, Prof. Fu showed the students a comparison of different business models, which was really impressive. Then, Prof. Fu continued the class in the form of charts and tables to talk about the elements of business model. “In general, the elements include customers, customer relationship, distribution channels, value proposition, key activities, key resources and important partners, among which value proposition is the core element.”
Lasting for four hours without break, the class ended with applause. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere during the lecture, and gained a lot in the field of marketing.
