On November 23, 2014, the tenth Chinese Economic Thought Forum was held at the School of Economics, Peking University. The topic was on Theoretical Innovation and Achieving the China Dream: Deepening Reform, Economic Transition, Culture and Traditions.
Experts and entrepreneurs including Prof. Yan Zhijie, Former Dean of the School of Economics, Peking University, Prof. Lou Yulie, Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Peking University, Prof. QianJin, Professor at the Institute of Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Tang Renwu, Dean of Business School, Beijng Normal University, and Prof. Liu Baocheng, Director of the Center for International Business Ethics at the University of International Business and Economics, discussed the methods of theoretical innovation of Chinese economic thought and achieving the China dream through the prospective of economic transition, traditional culture, management differences between China and the West, and that of ethics as well as law.
Prof. Liu Baocheng delivered a keynote speech on “Corporate Social Responsibility of overseas Chinese enterprises”. Prof. Liu analyzed the status of China’s investments abroad through foreign aid, trade, investment, project contract, financing and loans according to data. Then, Prof. Liu concluded by explaining the five misconducts of Chinese enterprises overseas, including irregular trade, fraud, commercial bribery, disorder management system and environmental destruction and put forward his suggestions on how to take up international social responsibility.
