 Entrepreneurship: Dream Leads Life

On August 6th, we invited Mr. Tu Jinjun as a speaker on the topic of entrepreneurship. Mr. Tu has been in the position of senior manager in several large transnational enterprises for years, equipping him with rich experience in marketing and management.

“There’s one priority of entrepreneurship – that by no means a matter of one individual,” said Tu. The birth and growth of an emerging enterprise depend on the team which is a union of collective power, intelligence and ability. Besides, there are such elements that back up a startup company as financial control, market experience, industry tendency and personal characteristics. “These objective factors are numerous and complicated, also hard to estimate and predict. As an entrepreneur, you should develop subjective individual traits that prepare you to succeed. You need to be indomitable, courageous; and most importantly, you should learn to let it go, which means to be persevering but not obstinate. You should plant and harvest happiness for your team and people around you.”

Tu then gave an academic introduction of marketing strategy and the profit models of enterprises. He elaborated that in the Internet era, the cost of customers attaining resources and information is fairly low, which sets a higher requirement for the provider, in other words the enterprise, to meet the varying needs of customers accurately. Making the most of the communication means and building a preferential word of mouth atmosphere can be vital to an enterprise.

In the end, Tu shared his ideas about how to write a quality business plan. Not only did he outline the framework of the plan as an entrepreneur, he also pointed out some constructive advice and matters that need attentions from the perspective of an investor.

“Entrepreneurship is a thing for only a small crowd. We should keep in mind that the mission of it is to increase the happiness in your life and for people around you,” Tu repeated the value of happiness at the end of the lecture.
