Forum for Chinese traditional ethics and sustainable development was successfully held by CRT in Beijing
Chinese traditional ethics and sustainable development CRT was held in Beijing, August 23. Prof. Liu Baocheng, the director of CIBE, UIBE was invited to attend and delivered a speech about Chinese Confucianism and China’s foreign aid.
In Prof. Liu’s opinion, compared with Millennium Development Goals, Sustainable Development Goals emphasizes more on inclusive and cooperation. With the promotion of China's international status and international influence, how to play a positive role in the North-South dialogue will test the wisdom and state responsibility of China.

Since the reform and opening up, China ‘s foreign aid has got an remarkable achievement. Now, China’s foreign aid pays more attention to cooperation and capacity building and helps with the promotion of local sustainable development level with many ways, such as free aid, zero and low interest loans, HR training, and tariff cuts. As the international cooperation main bodies diversifying, China should not only strengthen internal economics and social sustainability development capacity building, but also seek a breakthrough in diplomacy and promote equality and cooperation between multiple stakeholders.

As for the development status of ethical studies in china, Prof. Liu thinks that our scholars must overcome the problems of fuzzy semantics, lacking of the subject and logic chaos urgently and then form a consensus on the basic concepts, identify moral subjects, clarify the purpose and means. So that we can promote the innovation of Confucianism and apply Chinese traditional wisdom to contemporary sustainable development practice.
