On August 7th, 2016, Prof. Liu Baocheng, director of the Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE) at the University of International Business and Economics, attended the road show Jury Committee of the 5th China’s Philanthropy Project Final Competition. As one of the judges of the presidium, Prof. Liu Baocheng made brilliant remarks on the projects. From his point of view, there were 5 points that should be paid attention to in the planning and operation of the public welfare and philanthropy projects: advantage, benefit, cost, deployment and evaluation.
The event was held by the Communication & Exhibition Committee of the China’s Philanthropy Project, including the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, People’s Government of the Guangdong Province, People’s Government of the Shenzhen city and China’s Charity Federation, undertaken by the Bureau of Civil Affairs of Shenzhen, Social Public Welfare Foundation of Shenzhen, Shenzhen Broadcasting and TV Group and V Fund of the Hunan Television Station, and was supported by the China Welfare Lottery- Public Welfare Fund of Shenzhen, Huaqiang Public Welfare Foundation and Qianhai Liankong Co., Ltd. through the whole course.
The event altogether collected 1128 projects nationwide from 31 provinces, cities, autonomous regions as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. There were 40 projects entering the final, including 20 social innovation projects and 20 university philanthropy maker projects. The event was guided by 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations, in the meantime emphasizing projects’ social benefits, operations management, sustainability and innovative ideas. By road show evaluations, there were 5 projects winning golden awards of social innovation, 5 projects winning golden awards of university philanthropy makers, 15 projects winning silver awards of social innovation and 15 projects winning silver awards of university philanthropy makers. |
