On June 26, the 2010 Guangdong CSR Forum and International Conference on Business Ethics and Social Responsibility was held at the International Conference Center in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. The Forum was hosted by School of Business English, Guangdong Business Research Center and Guangdong CSR Forum. The guests invited included Li Youhuan, Director of the Guangdong CSR Forum, Sun Mingquan, Chief Editor of Theory Page of Guangming Daily, Gu Yeli, Vice-president of GUFS, Guo Guihang, Assistant Dean of School of Business English, Xie Yingdong, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Zhu Wenzhong, Assistant Dean.
During the forum, many corporate representatives, as well as the research experts and professors of our university separately spoke on the establishment and development of CSR, which gave rise to a hot debate. Sun Mingquan from Guangming Daily gave an incisive analysis of the origin of CSR, theoretic development and cross subjects from the perspective of a theoretic worker.
Prof. Hou Shengtian, CIBE Vice Secretary-General, also the Assistant Editor-in-Chief of JIBE, spoke on “Pushing corporations to take social responsibility is the common responsibility of Chinese entrepreneurs and management professors of the day”. Some representatives from Agriculture University of Southern China and Yang Shaogang, the Chief Editor of “Research on Strategic Decision” of GUFS separately gave a deep illumination on the hot topics of CSR.
