May 21-22, 2012, CIBE invited Mr. Andrew So (Secretary General of Association for International Business Ethics in Hong Kong) and Ms. Teresa Tao (Matteo Ricci Public Service in Macao) to take part in a special trip to Nanpi County, Hebei Province. There our guests carried out a two-day Living Values Education and Training seminar for 12 teachers at the local Rothlin Primary School.
The training seminars used a variety of rich content and form to educate teachers about the urgency of protecting the environment and the importance of life value. Key points from the seminar include the 12 basic living values: love, responsibility, honesty, respect, solidarity, cooperation, peace, freedom, humility, happiness, tolerance, and simplicity. The seminar also included videos on environmental protection and tailor-made role-playing activities. These activities helped teachers realize their value and their unique talents. It also encouraged them to practice and implement Living Values. There was also deep discussion about the corporate world, peace, and happiness.
The aim of this training was to improve the design and organization of activities of values and deliver guidance to student life. CIBE believes the group activities and discussions were essential to stimulate the imagination and collaboration of teachers. After the two-day seminar, the teachers understood concepts such as the approaches and methods to living value education. We hope to leave the teachers in Nanpi stressing the importance of environmental protection education and life values.
