On the afternoon of July 16, 2012, Prof. Baoch eng Liu, Director of the Center for International Business Ethics at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), delivered a lecture on CSR (corporate social responsibility) case-studies in Room 439, a multimedia classroom in Ningyuan Building of UIBE.
Participants of the summer camp came from all over China, some from foreign universities. All the students were absorbed by Prof. Liu’s lecture. During the lecture, Prof. Liu systematically explained the most effective ways to analyze CSR cases. He emphasized that doing research needs predictability, which can be obtained through adequate pre-research preparation, so that the research can be as precise and accurate as possible. Prof. Liu introduced several useful tools in case study, such as STAR, PEST, SWOT and so on. These tools strengthened the students’ understanding of how to write and develop case-studies.
Before leaving Prof. Liu answered questions from the campers and gave a brief explanation of the three elements of civil society.
