On the afternoon of July 23, 2012, all the students of 2012 Collegiate Social Responsibility Summer Camp arrived at the headquarters of the Macrolink Group. Mr. Yang Yunhui, Executive Director, Assistant President and Director of Corporate Culture Department of Macrolink Group, delivered a lecture titled “Responsibility——driving force of harmony.”
Macrolink Group is one of China’s top 500 companies and China’s top 50 private enterprises. It has become a large-scale modern group covering real estate, mining, chemicals, ceramics, city piped gas, liquor, and financial investment. It is known as a “Diversified Landmark Enterprise” in China. Currently there are total of 60 subsidiary companies in the Group, including wholly-owned and shareholding companies.
By visiting the exhibition hall and watching propaganda films, the campers gained a general understanding of the history of the Group. They also had a close look at leading products of the Group, such as the well-known Olympic authorized red porcelain, rice cultivated in volcanic rocks, and new nanometer tubes.
In the lecture that followed, Mr. Yang Yunhui stressed the significance of responsibility, analyzed dilemmas in society, and pointed out the sources of several major social issues such as the desertification of spirit, polarization of wealth, and bureaucratic corruption. Then Mr. Yang challenged the students to find solutions in traditional Chinese culture from the perspective of ethics and responsibility. He appealed the return to the responsibility of countries, schools, families and individuals. He also encouraged active life planning to pursue the optimization of life’s values. Mr. Yang added the knowledge of how to conduct oneself and the goals of CSR to his lecture.
