On November 2, 2012, Professor Dennis McCann’s gave a lecture to MBA students of University of International Business Economics (UIBE) on “Case Study of Business Ethics”. This lecture was held in the MBA Education Center of UIBE and was addressed by Professor Liu Baocheng.
Professor McCann is the director of the Research Institute for Business Ethics at the Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE. The Institute was established in order to meet the need for case studies that address the increasingly growing ethical challenges faced by people doing business in Asia and to promote business ethics in Asia.
Prof. McCann, Professor Emeritus of Agnes Scott College, Atlanta/Decatur, Georgia, USA, has taught business ethics in the USA for over 30 years, and has been involved in research, lecturing and teaching on business ethics in China and SE Asia for the past 15 years.
In his lecture, Professor Dennis discussed with students the definition of business ethics, the purpose of case studies, elements of case writing. By adopting the case of Mengniu V.S Yili, he guided students to consider the existing problems of business ethics and the way to settle them.
Students, because of its interaction and warm atmosphere, praised the lecture. Prof. Liu Baocheng made a conclusion of this lecture and answered questions along with Prof. McCann. In the end, Prof. Liu presented the 3A principle of the construction of modern business ethics that is Awareness, Attitude and Action. He also encouraged students to put the principle into practice and to become the backbone of China. |
