On November 26 th,2012, the conference “Aid, Emerging Ec onomies and Global Policies”, which was co-organized by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation(SDC) , the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID)in Geneva,was held in Beijing. The book “Aid, Emerging Economies and Global Policies”will also be published soon.
H.E. Ambassador Jacques de Watteville, Ambassador of Switzerland in the P.R. of China and Mr. Huo Jianguo, President of CAITEC attended the meeting and respectively made welcome speeches. Then, distinguished guests, experts and scholars had heated discussions about the themes of the conference. As one of the speakers, Professor Liu Baocheng from CIBE delivered a speech in the panel discussion “Aid and Emerging Economies”.
Experts and scholars at the conference agreed that China and many other emerging economies are playing an increasinglyimportant role inimproving the efficiency ininternational development. Meanwhile, aid grantedby emerging economies must rely more on the civil society and the cooperation with other governmental and international organizations. |
