On December 6th, 2012, Prof. Liu Baocheng and Dr. Stephan Rothlin from The Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE) participated in the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Charity Fair held at the Crowne Plaza Sun Palace Hotel in Beijing at the invitation of Ms. Anna Stackler, General Manager of the hotel. 

 

This year, the theme of the lighting ceremony was“Care for Children in No.1 Middle School and Rothlin Primary School in Nanpi County in Hebei Province”.At first, Prof. Liu Baocheng, director of CIBE made a brief introduction on the status quo of the state of education in Nanpi County and called for help in form of donation or other support for the children there. Then, Prof. Liu and Ms. Anna Stackler, jointly lighted the colourful candles on the Christmas tree. Employees of the hotel and children from the international school gave wonderful performances, pushing the activityto a new high. In the end, Ms. Anna Stackler made a summing-up speech of the charity fair, expressing her gratitude for the warm-hearted people that raised as much as RMB 6600 that will be donated to No.1 Middle School and Rothlin Primary School in Nanpi County for the improvement of teaching conditions. The exciting performances, the lucky draw and people’s kindness made the lighting ceremony very enjoyable. 

 

Up to now, Crowne Plaza Sun Palace Hotel has sponsored CIBE to hold an annual English Summer Camps for two consecutive years. Every year, during the one-week long camp, excellent pupils from Rothlin Primary School in Nanpi County visit Beijing and experience the experiential learning style in English to broaden their mind and gain more knowledge.
