The seminar “Le Ping teaches survival tips in college——acade mic papers & contest raiders”, organized by the College Students' Social Responsibility Association at UIBE, kicked off on Monday March 25, 2013 in the Boxue Building.
Le Ping, professorat UIBE’sInstitute of Teaching and Research of Ideological and Political Theory, has long been engaged in ideological and political education, drawing extensive experience frompersonal research and thesis writing. At the seminar, Le Ping focused on how to conduct research and organize a thesis, specifically for the CSR Essay Competition organized by CIBE.
At 7:30pm, Prof. Le began her lecture, introducing her audience to four essential aspects of conducting social experiments - research programs, data collection, analysis methods and writing skills. Through her insightful lecture, the students have gained a better understanding of how to select research topics, investigate such topics, organize their findings, and analyze their discoveries in a well-written final report. At the same time, in addition to the more formal parts of her lecture, Prof. Le utilized rich anecdotes and humorous language to express her message in a lively and interesting manner.
At 8:50pm, as the lecture neared its end, the Q & A session began. The students raised questions regarding literature review, the essay competition on "corporate social responsibility,” the “Challenge Cup “competition, as well as social practice and the thesis writing process in general.
The lecture came to an end at 9:20pm, as the students continued to raise questions for Prof. Le Ping. Following the lecture, many students expressed that they now felt better prepared to conduct social studies and write theses.
