The Sixth Corporate Social Responsibility Essay Competition, organized by the Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE) and co organized by the Collegiate Social Responsibility Association at UIBE, has its papers’ submission deadline on March 30. The essay competition is opened for all university students. As the next generation of leaders, these students need confidence and skills to engage the social challenges that lay ahead. Concepts learned and capabilities developed now will be taken into their future careers. Promoting discussion of important issues like CSR in student circles is not only a great investment in students’ professional development, but also a commitment to building our shared future.
Since 2007, more than 7000 groups have participated the competition, 69 groups and 12 university associations have been awarded; 1 winner got the chance to pursue MBA study in Seton Hall University for tuition free waived; 7 winning papers were published in WTO Tribune Magazine; some participants gained the chance to be interns in famous companies or attend social responsibility summer camp. All of these have caused positive feedback in academic and business communities. Prof. Wangling, Party Secretary of UIBE personally selected the slogan for the series of activity as “Insight into Society· Lead the Future”.
During the Sixth Corporate Social Responsibility Essay Competition from 2012-2013, Collegiate Social Responsibility Association of UIBE extended its cooperation with new partners like Nankai University, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Dalian University of Technology. The propaganda has used network media (Renren, MicoBlog, news network, BBS, etc.), posters, leaflets, newspapers all over the country. By the registration deadline, a total of more than 2700 group registered, embodying the diversification of registration channels and the wild range of participants in education background and geographical distribution, etc. In addition, by the submission deadline, a total of 328 competitors submitted their papers. Through the first round of selection, 69 papers were selected into the final stage.
The final stage will be ended in the mid of May, and the result will be publicized on the website of CIBE.
