Recent years have seen the rapid development of China-Africa relations and the strengthening of cooperation in diverse areas. Africa is one of the key emerging investment destinations for Chinese enterprises and the second largest overseas market in terms of project contracts. As Chinese investment to the continent expands, it is imperative that Chinese enterprises devise adaptive strategies suited environment for sustainable growth economically, ecologically, and socially. This salon is aimed at gathering perspectives and experiences on Corporate Social Responsibilityand sustainable practices of Chinese investors in Africa with special focus on Kenya and South Africa.
China-Africa Dialogue: Responsible Investment is going to host on 9:00-17:00, Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at UIBE, Beijing China. This is the fifth Salon of the “Responsible Outbound Investment Salon Series”, designed to help Chinese corporations more effectively implement sustainable investment practices, by considering and engaging the positions of diverse stakeholders, ultimately as a way to achieve inclusive development of the economy and society. It is for this reason that the series bears the tagline, “Synergized Innovation, Shared Prosperity”. We hope the salons will be an engaging, interactive platform for all interested parties, so as to influence government decision-making, business practices and public awareness, as well as to promote responsible multinational business behavior.
