Dr.Song Hongjun, research fellow at People’s Bank of China gave the speech “Economic Disparities and Differentiated Management” at Panel 1. Dr. Song expressed his views from the perspective of culture.
Since ancient times, people in different parts of the world have formed different cultures through labor, which are reflected in religion, politics, beliefs, production, lifestyle and organizational behaviors. Different cultures also help to form different groups, areas and modes of thinking. Therefore, unbalanced development between countries, areas, groups and individuals is inevitable. However, the existence of human beings and their life is a reality. People all over the world pursue a wealthy life.
Dr.Song expressed his views on poverty, income disparity and corruption from the perspective of past experiences. According to him, low-salary systems give rise to corruption. Anti-corruption measures must solve the problem from its fundaments. Different cultural backgrounds must be considered when setting standards. In China, a moderate degree of income disparity is necessary. Professors and workers, those with a bachelor degree and those with a Doctor degree are supposed to earn different amount of money so that people can be motivated to further their study.
Dr.Song pointed out that differentiated management is an efficient and practical philosophical solution to address economic disparity and realize standardized adjustment. Differentiated management can provide safer methods and technologies for more sophisticated managerial projects of different levels in various fields.
